District Workshop of Northern Region Fisher Peoples Collective on 15th November 2021,උතුරු පළාත් ධීවර එකමුතුවේ දිස්ත්‍රික් වැඩමුළුව
Northern Region
Fisher Collective which been formed by active contribution and participation of
fishing communities of North has become a social activist group which for the
betterment of the Northern region fisher communities. They work towards establishing
a sustainable fishing industry, while not restricting themselves only for
Northern region, but getting involved in any part island where there are issues
related to fisher communities, come forward and mediate on behalf of the affected
communities. The workshop for the district activists of Northern region fisher
Peoples Collectives was the held 15th November at Poonagary, Kilinochchi.
Main aspects discussed during this workshop were the current situation of the
Collective, Mapping of its structure, gathering of Data of the of the
Collective. This workshop was facilitated by Mr.Anthony Jesudasan,the Program coordinator
of Peace and Sustainable development for
People’s Dialogue of NAFSO. The vice president Mr.Joesph Francis, Assistant Secretary
Mr.Anne Rita, Northern Region Coordinator Ms.Thadsajani Thavaslevam, Kilinochchi
District Coordinater Mr.Sathees and Mrs.Amalajeewani along with Mr.Benadict
Croos, the Mannar Disrtrict Coordinator. Also participated.
උතුරු පළාතේ ධීවර ප්‍රජාවගේ සක්‍රීය සභාගිත්වයෙන් නිර්මාණය වු උතුරු පළාත් ධීවර එකතුව අද වන විට උතුරු පළාතේ ධීවර ප්‍රජාවගේ අභිවෘද්ධිය උදෙසා සක්‍රීය දායකත්වයක් ලබා දෙන ක්‍රියාකාරි සමාජ කණ්ඩායමකි. එමෙන්ම, උතුරු පළාත පමණක් නොව, ධීවරයින් උදෙසා කුමන් අර්බුදකාරි තත්ත්වයක් පැන නැගුණ විටදී ඔවුන් උදෙසා මැදිහත් වෙමින් ධීවර අයිතීන් දිනා ගැනීම උදෙසා කටයුතු කරන මෙම උතුරු පළාත් ධීවර එකතුව තිරසර ධීවර කර්මාන්තයක් නිර්මාණය කිරීම උදෙසා ක්‍රියාකාරි වන කණ්ඩායමකි. ඒ අනුව, උතුරු පළාත් ධිවර එකතුවේ දිස්ත්‍රික් ක්‍රියාකාරින්ගේ වැඩමුළුව 2021 නොවැම්බර් මස 15 වන දින කිලිනොච්චි දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ පූනගරිහි පැවැත්විණ.
