Rendering free service and youth meeting
The youth of Jaffna District Fisheries Solidarity organized a
rendering free service in order to clean the beach in Maruthankinei area on 6th
of June 2020. This campaign was organized to celebrate the world environmental
day . As well as, a youth meeting was held in the same day in Maruthankinei.
The youth meeting has concerned some important issues in relation to the
environment. It emphasized waste management and environmental pollution due to
the informal waste removal. This opportunity has used to discuss the existing
situation of the fisheries industry under the unprotected condition in the
area. Representatives of the Citizen Forum, youth and staff of
the Jaffna District Fisheries Solidarity participated in the occasion. There are around 24 members in the campaign.
