ජාතික ජලජ සම්පත් පර්යේෂණ සහ සංවර්ධන නියෝජිතායනය (NARA) විසින් මීගමුව කලපුව දූෂණය වීම වැලැක්වීම සඳහා වන කාලීන සාකච්ඡාවක් 2023 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 26 වන දින ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාර ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී පැවැත්විය. මෙම අවස්ථාවට මීගමුව ධීවර කාර්යාලය, වෙරළ සංරක්‍ෂණ අධිකාරිය, නාරා ආයතනය, වනජීවි කාර්යාලය, මධ්‍යම පරිසර අධිකාරිය, මීගමුව කලපු කළමනාකරණ අධිකාරිය, වයි.එම්.සී (YMC) ආයතනය, ජනවබෝධ කේන්ද්‍රය, එස්.එල්.ඩී.සී (L.L.D.C) ආයතනය වැනි රාජ්‍ය ආයතන ද ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාරය නියෝජනය කරමින් මීගමුව ශ්‍රී විමුක්ති ධීවර කාන්තා සංවිධානයේ දීපා සුභාෂිනි මෙනවිය, නිමල් පෙරේරා මහතා සහ නුවන් ප්‍රදීප් යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් සහභාගි වූහ. මෙහිදි මීගමුව කලපුවේ වත්මන් ඛේදනය තත්ත්වය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වයි.එම්.සී (YMC) ආයතනයේ අජිත් හැඩ්ලි මහතා ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමක් කළ අතර සැමගේ අවධානය ඒ සඳහා යොමු විය. රාජ්‍ය හා රාජ්‍ය නොවන මට්ටමින් සියලු දෙනා එක්ව මීගමුව කලපුව සුරැකීමට එක්ව ක්‍රියා කිරීමේ දැඩි අධිෂ්ඨානයෙන් යුතුව මෙහි ක්‍රියාවලය අඛණ්ඩව ඉදිරියට ගෙන යා යුතු බවත් එහි නායකත්වය නාරා ආයතනය ගන්නා බවත් මෙහිදි තීරණය විය.
National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) held a topical discussion on prevention of pollution of Negombo Lagoon on 26 September 2023 at the National Fisheries Solidarity Movement Auditorium. Negombo Fisheries Office, Coastal Conservation Authority, Nara Institute, Wildlife Office, Central Environment Authority, Negombo Lagoon Management Authority, YMC Institute, Janawabodha Kendraya, L.L.D.C. Miss Deepa Subhashini, Mr. Nimal Perera and Mr. Nuwan Pradeep of Negombo Sri Vimukti Fishermen's Women's Organization also participated representing the National Fisheries Solidarity Movement.Here, Mr. Ajith Hadley of YMC made a presentation regarding the current tragic situation in the Negombo lagoon and everyone's attention was drawn to it. It was decided here that the process should be carried forward continuously with the strong determination of everyone at the governmental and non-governmental level to work together to save the Negombo Lagoon and the Nara Institute will take the lead.
