Sri Vimukti Org. in collaboration with The National Fisheries Solidarity Movement (NAFSO) launched a public awareness and signature campaign to 'ensure the right to recall all public representatives who violate the rights of the people'. It was held on the 15th of July at 03 places near Kudapaduwa, Wella street church in Negombo and near Aliyapola.
With the support of the people, the protest was carried out in a very peaceful manner. After that challenging to this, one of the women acted in a somewhat violent manner and later it was informed that she was a relative of a politician in the area. The women of The Sri Liberation Organization who bravely faced the situation said, "We are the citizens of the country first, then the fisher women, we say to ensure the sovereignty of the people, no one can push us with our rights, we stand together for it."
