People against to bury Covid -19 deaths in Iranathive Island
There was a huge argument in burying the Covid related deaths in
the county. The government had taken a decision not to bury Covid related
deaths saying that there is a possibility to spread virus through water. The government
said that the decision was taken following the direction of technical committee
which was appointed by the government to give an advice to the government on
this issue. In the meanwhile the government was saying the inability to bury
Covid related deaths, WHO declared their decision highlighting that there is no
possibility to spread the virus through water but the government did not change
their decision.
The decision of the government not to allow burying the Covid
related deaths directly made an impact to Muslim nation. According to the belief
of the Muslim community, they are not allowed to burn the death bodies. That is
a religious teaching of the Muslim community. Although there was no huge intervention
of Catholic community, they also have a same tradition according to their
religion teaching. Especially Muslim
leaders, politicians, religious leaders and other related groups showed their objection
for the decision of the government in public. Different people, groups and
expertise held different attitudes regarding this matter. Although the Viral
expertise came to the front line and very clearly mentioned the inability to
spread the virus through water, the government did not change their decision.
Finally the government had to take a decision to allow to bury the
Covid related deaths because of the various influence in locally and internationally.
The government selected some locations to bury Covid related deaths. Iranathive
Island in the Killinochchi district is one of the places that government
selected to bury the Covid related deaths. This decision has created a potential
to build a tense situation between the Muslim and Tamil community because Tamil
people have occupied in the Island of Iranathive.
According to this situation, Killinochchi District Fisheries
Solidarity organized a protest with the collaboration of other civil societies in
Iranamatha Nagar on 3 of March 2021. The
civil society representatives, community leaders, citizens, religion leaders,
civil servants and representatives of Jaffna District Fisheries Solidarity
participated in the protest. The campaigners requested not to use their Island
to bury the death bodies as well as they demanded the government to revise the
decision of burying the Covid related deaths in the Island.
දැඩි මතභේදයට තුඩු දුන් කොවිඩ් 19 ආසාදනය වී මරණය පත් වු මෘතදේහ සම්බන්ධයෙන් මෙරට විශාල කථිකාවතට ලක් වු බරපතල ගැටලුවකි. ඇතැම් ආගමික නාගයකයින්ගේ ආගමික මතභේද හා විශ්වාස අනුව කොවිඩ් ආසාදිතව මරණයට පත් වු පුද්ගලයින්ගේ මෘතදේහ ආදාහනය කිරීම ඔවුන්ගේ ඇදහිලි හා විශ්වාසයින්ට නිගා දෙන කරුණක් යැයි සඳහන් කරමින් විවිධ මුස්ලීම් ආගමික නායකයින් විවිධ පරස්පර මත හා අදහස් සමාජ මාධ්‍යය මෙන්ම ප්‍රධාන ධාරාවේ මාධ්‍ය තුළ ද අදහස් දක්වන ලදී. කෙසේ වුවත් මුස්ලීම් ආගම අදහන්නෙකු කොවිඩ් ආසාදිතව මිය ගිය පසු ඔහුගේ දේහය සම්බන්ධයෙන් ගත යුතු පියවර පිළිබඳව විවිධ නිර්දේශ ඉදිරිපත් විය. කෙසේ වුවත් ආණ්ඩුව අවසානයේදී කිලිනොච්චි දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ඉරනෛතුව් දූපතේ කොවිඩ් ආසාදිතව මිය පුද්ගලයන්ගේ මෘත දේහ මිහිදන් කිරීමට ආණ්ඩුව තීරණය කළේ ය . මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් විවිධ පුද්ගලයින්ගේ අදහස් ඉදිරිපත් වු අතර මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඉරනෛතුව් දූපතේ පුද්ගලයින් මෙම මෘත දේහ වැලලීම සපුරා තහනම් කරන ලෙසත් මම ගැටලුව නිසා මුස්ලීම් දෙමළ පුද්ගලයින් අතර ජාතිවාදී ගැටුම් නිර්මාණය වන බව පවසමින් එයට විරෝධය පා 2021 මාර්තු මස 03 වන දින කිලිනොච්චි ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාරය විසින් ඉරනෛයි මාතා නගර් හි උද්ඝෝෂණ ව්‍යාපාරයක් පැවැත් වු අතර එයට යාපනය දිස්ත්‍රික් ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාරය ද එක් වූහ මේ සඳහා සිවිල් නිලධාරි සිවිල් ක්‍රියාකාරකයින් ආගමික නායකයින් ද එක් වූහ.
கொவீட் 19 தொற்று நோயினால் மரணமடைந்தவர்களின் சடலங்களை அடக்கம் செய்வது தொடர்பாக எமது நாட்டில் பல விதமாக உரையாடப்பட்டது. மதத்தலைவர்களின பேதங்கள் மற்றும் நம்பிக்கையின்படி இவ்வாறான மரணங்களை அழித்தொழித்தல் அவர்களின் வழிபாடு மற்றும் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோரை அகௌரவிக்கும் காரணமாக குறிப்பிட்டு பலவித முஸ்லீம் மதத்தலைவர்கள் பலவித எண்ணங்களை சமூக ஊடகங்கள் போலவே பிரதான ஊடகங்கள் ஊடாக கருத்துகளை தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். ஏவ்வாறானாலும் ஒரு முஸ்லீம் மதத்தினர் கொவீட் காரணமாக இறந்தால் அரசு எடுத்த இறுதி முடிவு என்னவென்றால் கிளிநொச்சி மாவட்டத்தில் இரணைதீவில் அச்சடலம் அடக்கம் செய்வதாகும். இது தொடர்பாக பலரின் கருத்துகளின்படி இத்தீவில் வாழும் மக்களுக்கு இதனால் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படுவதால் இது தடைசெய்யபபட வேண்டுமென்றும் இந்த முரண்பாட்டினால் முஸ்லீம் மற்றும் தமிழர்களுக்கிடையில் இன பிரச்சினைகள் ஏற்படுமெனவும் கூறி அதற்கு எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவிக்கும் முகமாக 2021.03.03ம் திகதி கிளிநொச்சி மீனவ ஒத்துழைப்பு இயக்கம் மூலம் இரணைமதா நகரில் ஆட்பாட்டம் ஒன்று நடத்தப்பட்டதோடு அதில் யாழ்மாவட்ட மீனவ ஒத்துழைப்பு இயக்கமும் பங்களித்தது. இது தொடர்பாக சிவில் அதிகாரிகள் சிவில் செயற்பாட்டாளர்கள் மதத்தலைவர்களும் கலந்துக்கொண்டனர்.
