Workshop on Discussion and Emergence of Major Socio-Economic, Cultural and Political Issues of Women in the North, East and South.

The above
mentioned workshop was held in Kandy on the 7th-8th of August 2020 with the
participation of women leaders of Matara, Galle, Puttalum, Gampaha, Ampara,
Batticaloa, Jaffna, Killinochchi Mullathive and Mannar districts. 27 members
attended the workshop. (19 female and 8 male).  It was
expected to develop a common document based on the discussion and submit the
document to the Ministry of Women affairs and the relevant government officials
of districts.  Mrs.Menasha
Kandasami facilitated the workshop while secretariat staff Mr. Herman kumara,
Mr.Jesudasan, Mrs.Laveniea Hasanthi provided the necessary technical
support. 

Workshop
participants discussed and analyzed the socio, economic, political and cultural
issues the experience of women in respective districts and developed a common
document and an action plan to submit to the Ministry of Women affaires and the
relevant government officers in districts. Workshop participants further agreed
to have village level discussions with the village level women members to
educate them on the above mentioned issues and the outcome of the workshop.
