World Food Week 2026 | School Awareness Program
World Food Week 2026 | School Awareness Program
Today we explored the power of our indigenous root crops – Bathala (sweet potato), Manyokka (cassava), Innala, Kohila Ala, Kiri Ala. These are climate-resilient, nutritious, and chemical-free foods that sustained our ancestors.
In a time of food crisis, our tubers are our food security. No need for imported wheat flour when we have our own alawarga. Rich in fiber, energy, and iron – perfect for children.
This program was collaboratively organized by NAFSO, WFFP (World Forum of Fisher Peoples) to promote Food Sovereignty: Our Food, Our Village, Our Future.
